As Lead Pastor of The Awakening Church, Kerry Bowman serves from a passionate heart to see each person authentically encounter Jesus Christ and experience His transforming grace.

Having grown up on a large family farm in Indiana, Kerry values the local church as a place to discover God, find community, and gain purpose for life. He has been a student of biblical faith, modern culture and church movements, having earned his Master’s (MDiv) at the Alliance Theological Seminary in New York City and his Doctorate (DMin) at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena.

Having served as a church planter and lead pastor in Indianapolis for over 20 years, Kerry, and his wife, Melissa, came to Southern California and The Awakening in 2013, along with their family -- Ryan, Zac, Levi and Grace.
