All good, professional taxidermy studios are always busy. Industry turn-around time for your mount may range from 6 months to 1 year. Bird mounts and various other animals may take 3 to 5 months. We get 90% of our workload in during the hunting seasons in a three month period for the whole year. Please be patient and realistic as to receive the absolute best taxidermy work that we are able to do for you. 4worldlovers: Hi, my name is Mike Herman. I have been practicing the art of taxidermy since 2001. I’ve always enjoyed sketching, painting, charcoal and chalk wildlife art. I am passionate about hunting and fishing, and just being outdoors. I am married to my wife of 20yrs, Melissa, and we have 2 kids. My goal is to provide quality mounts at an affordable price, with resonable turn-around.

I use the highest quality materials available in the taxidermy industry. I am constantly doing research, buying training videos, attending seminars, staying up to date on the latest techniques and new materials and forms. I try very hard to get it right, studying reference photos, animal anatomy, posture and expressions.

I send my capes to a professional tannery. They are tanned and thinned to perfection by people that do it for a living, providing me with a fantastic finished product.

My turn around time is 8-12 months. This is not a rush process. Specialty items can take longer.

So a friend recommended this company for my goat. We brought him the head, and a few days later I got the skull. He was super fast and was actually affordable compared to the very few taxidermist in this area. I was surprise how quickly he finished the skull, especially since I did a lot of research how long it takes to do it yourself. I considered burying the head and mastecation, but that would of took weeks or even months and be super smelly. I brought him some hides to work on, and again he gave us an affordable price. Defiantly will do buisness with him in the future, especially during fishing season next year.

Zane did an amazing job euro mounting a wild pig and mule deer I got in 2020. He is fair priced, honest and just an overall good guy with a lot of knowledge. He did such a great job I just dropped off my 2021 mule deer with full confidence that it will come out perfect.

After looking at his work, and talking to Zane, I entrusted him with a couple of Blacktail heads for Euro mounts. His work was completed unbelievably fast. Workmanship was superb with terrific pricing. I will be using South Coast Taxidermy again.
