4worldlovers: Picasso’s Deli was opened in downtown Modesto in the Fall of 2000 (we can’t believe it has been over 20 years already!) by owners Jordi and Margarita Camps. Picasso’s Deli mixes the passions of its owners to create a unique and eclectic experience. Jordi has been an artist and painter all of his life and Margarita is an amazing cook who has a passion for home-made cooking. These two passions, the Art and the Food, come together to create Picasso’s Deli.
At Picasso’s, anywhere you sit you will be surrounded by local art. Jordi painted all the tables in the restaurant so everyone can enjoy a “piece of art on the plate as well as on the table.” All of the artwork is also for sale, so you can come in for a sandwich and leave with a painting!
At Picasso’s everyone is treated like family. It is a normal occurance to hear Jordi greet our costumers with the phrase, “Welcome Home!” We believe that Picasso’s is a place for everyone to enjoy, like visiting a friend for a cup of coffee in their living room.
These unique qualities create an ambience that is unlike any other. A creative environment that invites creativity, invention, and serenity. A place to hang out, chat with friends, eat great food, drink great coffee, and perhaps think of your next project idea.

Julia Clopton: They don't list it in their online menu but we called ahead and they have gluten-free bread available. My husband and teen went for traditional sourdough but we all really enjoyed our sandwiches. My teen also really liked the side of potato salad. Before we left we bought a bag of the bakers almond flour lemon cookies. I don't think the cookies are a regular menu item but if they have them when you visit definitely pick up a bag. They're the perfect summer cookie. Chewy sweet and lemony. We visited a few days ago when we were on a family roadtrip to visit Yosemite and by unanimous agreement, next time we come through this way we're stopping by Picassos deli.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly casual atmosphereDietary restrictions: Gluten-free bread available. And the baker was on-site to discuss if gluten and dairy were present in different baked good and I had some safe options.

Rhonda Kuminkoski: I am here on business and I stopped in for a salad. They made me a spinach salad minus bacon plus tuna, and it was amazing. The dressing on it was very rich and tasty. Very clean and fresh. They were so kind and friendly. If I am ever back in Modesto, I may just have to stop in again. Great job!
Collin Butler: Amazing food with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The owner was very polite and passionate. If you’re ever in downtown Modesto I would definitely recommend stopping here for lunch.

They have friendly service, and the food quality is excellent! I enjoy the Christine sandwich with added Turkey… I remember to take a picture half way through the meal. The salads are excellent too. Reasonably priced and healthy!

With a truly homey feel it’s decor and warm friendly service makes you feel like you are having lunch at your family cabin. Now let’s talk food, a nice selection of specialty sandwiches for all tastes from vegetarian to delicious cold cuts,tuna even egg salad and PB&J for the kiddos or just kids at heart 😊 looking for something lighter the salads are Devine and homemade soups warm the belly and soul. A true local gem that are hard to come by these days

John Powell: If you want to have some meat on your sandwich for a fair price this is the place. Modesto special pastrami is thick and probably the best sandwich around.
