This was not for a cosmetic change, so we were very particular on what we wanted for this project. When requesting proposals, I made it clear on what we wanted for the scope and also include some extra scope.Martin Jr. was sincere and attentive during the job walk and in later communications to fine tune the proposal/scope. He informed me when he thought what we wanted was not needed, but he didn't try to divert the added work. He was upfront when there were things they couldn't do or if it wouldn't turn out to what we are expecting. He was also honest if it was going to be an extra charge. Other companies gave run around answers to what we wanted or were very determined to persuade me that I didn't need it because it would mean added work. Others were quick to say yes to everything, including the extra scope and they used this to pad their costs.Martin Sr. and the work crew are extremely hard working people. This is a very manual intense job and these guys pushed along like nothing. You can tell they care about their work and want to give a good product. What impressed me was at the end of the day, instead of rushing to finish so they can leave, they stayed to make sure they completed the task of the day.Communication and coordination with Martin Sr and Martin Jr was easy and I'm very glad that they were on the project. I was an "involved" owner, partially because I'm a curious person and was interested in what they do, and because this project was to fix a water issue and I was nervous on making sure the project was done right. They were super patient with me and spent time teaching me about their trade. At each progress stage, we had walk through to go over the next steps and address any concerns. They were also easy to contact and quick to make adjustments when things didn't go according to plan. Pacificland is definitely on my list the next time I need to do a similar project.
