4worldlovers: Jimmy Johannes, MD, finds his career in medicine to be uniquely interesting and challenging and considers it a privilege to be able to engage with his community on such a personal level. He enjoys the challenges of helping others maintain health, diagnosing and treating disease, and reducing suffering by contributing to and applying the latest in biomedical science.

Dr. Johannes is board certified in Internal Medicine. He received his medical education from the School of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Following this, he completed his training with a residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and a fellowship at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. Specializing in pulmonary and critical care, he is particularly interested in pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung diseases.

Additionally, Dr. Johannes has certification in Basic Critical Care Ultrasound which he received from the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCLA Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, and the American Thoracic Society.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Johannes enjoys spending time with his family and friends, going to the farmer’s market, running around town or by the beach, and eating a good bowl of pho.
