I ran the apple diagnostics and it seemed like the hard drive was failing somehow, but it hadn't quite totally quit.LBC Repair confirmed this and removed and replaced the 1 TB hard drive with a 1 TB SSD drive for a price that made sense to me.I'm still waiting to buy the latest and greatest overpriced Apple replacement computer later in 2022 so this is money well spent to buy some time and capture all of my data and continue on with my computing needs.My iMac runs great now, and LBC Repair installed the data from my back up drive. This was right decision with excellent results. So far so good!
