4worldlovers: Sages honors nineteen Southern Californian artists who have both practiced and taught art throughout their long careers. Widely acclaimed as art-makers, their parallel commitment to education is relatively unrecognized. Some, like Connie Jenkins and Jim Morphesis, have taught at the university and junior college level. John M. White taught at the high school level and Gerri McMillin has had an alternative teaching career, offering periodic workshops rather than institutionalized classes.
Hand embroidery typically conjures up images of docile women, silently working on their expected domestic duties through their needle work. This traditionally feminine medium was once seen as an indicator of marriage suitability, teaching ideas of modesty, virtue, and obedience. Artist Orly Cogan reclaims the medium, using vintage fabrics as a foundation for her hand stitched explorations of modern women.

b2rian lopez: were so impressive! Each room in the building demonstrates a little bit about what life was like decades ago- from the flora & fauna, the natives that lived here, to the railroads and mining industries, and the local dairies of the early 20th century... this is a place you gotta visit if you want to learn-about and appreciate The AV's history. Plus the docents are so friendly, helpful, and answered my questions with their extensive knowledge. If you've visited places like the Whaley House in San Diego, or the Homestead Museum in La Puente, this is another historical home of SoCal you would love!
Al Briones: The gentleman behind the desk was very nice and loved telling the story of the hotel. But he wasn't aware of any ghost stories at the hotel

Erica Cunningham: We only spent one night here, but it was very nice. We had breakfast, make your own waffle, there was eggs and sausage patties and an over-all hoping selection of breakfast foods. The staff was friendly. The room was nice. Just a great experience up our otherwise hectic travel/move lol.

JustHavingFun: It's open on saturdays. I was able to look around but they're still renovating the place so the upstairs is closed to the public. Only one bedroom was staged, with historic items, for viewing

alexa morley: Sadly this well kept building from a bygone age is not open very often. I am not sure if they operate on city funds or donations but when they ARE open people are welcome to look around the small rooms with historic items and memorabilia. Perhaps try calling the city office to see what days they might be open because just showing up will lead to locked doors most of the month.

Renee Pasman: Super fun and informative local museum about a landmark I didn't even know existed. A great place to learn about the local history, see some specific artifacts, and never complain about the size of modern hotel rooms again! The staff was super friendly and helpful. They don't have a way to take credit cards, so make sure to bring cash for your donation/entry fee.

ScSnow156: Conveniently located near the 14 Higjway. There is a nice Sushi restaurant in the same parking lot. The rooms are nice some with a small kitchenette. Also the added breakfast is nice as well.The staff is really seemingly genuinely pleased to see you. Lol.... I realize that sounds funny. But when you're greeted the convo isn't just small talk but what I encountered is folks just being real and not the typical hotel/motel bla bla bla. We were here for quite a few days though so we did get to know them.Anyway, there is a pool that is small but does the job. Comfortable bedding. Bathrooms are spacious.It's a safe bet staying here. Would stay anytime / everything of we had a need to

Ana Simpson: , the laundry was clean and had plenty of machines, we didn't get to use it but the BBQ area was a nice amenity, and of course the hot breakfast was the Chery on top! Strongly recommend this property for families, business travelers, or if you are making a quick visit to town. We will definitely come back!

Overall the stay was great.
