4worldlovers: Antelope Valley Cemetery District is a Los Angeles County tax-supported special district established by and for the residents of the District. Persons not residing within the District are welcomed but are required to pay a nominal non-resident fee.

The District boundaries are approximately Avenue A, south to Avenue N, the San Bernardino County Line to 320th Street West. Cemeteries in the District include Lancaster Cemetery and Del Sur Cemetery.

The gates are open for visitors from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Current office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

When you plan in advance, you can make your own choices based on your needs and wishes. You choose how your final arrangements will be carried out.

The plots require a liner or vault; open and closing (includes services set-up); marker setting; Endowment care and state tax.

Other miscellaneous fees may apply according to your needs. A $650 fee applies to those not located in the Antelope Valley Cemetery District boundaries.

Board Meetings and agenda are posted at the Lancaster Cemetery District office. Meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of every month at 8:00 a.m. in the District office. Please contact District office to check meeting schedules.

Veterans from all wars and conflicts are remembered at Lancaster Cemetery. We have several memorials and celebrations throughout the year for our veterans including Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veterans Day and Wreaths Across America. We have also had events specifically for Vietnam Veterans Day, our World War II and Korean War veterans, Purple Heart Hometown Heroes and Civil War veterans.

Lancaster Cemetery makes sure that no veteran is buried alone. A policy has been set that If there are no family members present for the funeral, we will have a special ceremony with local ROTC students or veterans from the area and will have Taps played in honor of his or her service.

In 2007 the non-profit organization Friends of the Lancaster Cemetery, Inc. (FOLC) was formed. Through fundraising events and partnering with local schools and the community, this group has been able to build a Veterans Court of Honor with monuments and flags/flagpoles honoring our veterans.

The walkway is made up of bricks with 2,000 of them donated by Jaqua and Sons Masonry in Lancaster, CA. The bricks are sponsored with names of veterans from all wars (as far back as the Revolutionary War) engraved on each brick. Sponsorship bricks can be purchased for a donation of $75 per brick.

On June 17th, All Souls Cemetery joined our 11 Catholic Cemeteries throughout the Archdiocese by holding its annual Father's Day Rosary, and it was evident to all in attendance that our cemeteries are returning to pre-pandemic normalcy. Over 100 faithful individuals participated in the rosary, which was live-streamed on our website. I learned about the Manzanar Pilgrimage at Religious Education Congress in 2016. On the upper floor of the main hall were tables with displays by numerous Catholic cultures, including Filipinos, Samoans, Vietnamese, etc. I came across a collection for Japanese Catholics.
