4worldlovers: We have been breeding and raising border collies for over 20 years and have traveled all over the world to find lines that will make the perfect companion. We prefer pet homes over show homes as we feel our puppies thrive in a family environment, our dogs are raised by our family, for your family. Bred for beauty and temperament, our dogs have been successful in many performance venues including herding, agility, and obedience. But while we love performance we don't expect it of our puppy owners.
We are located in Southern California, west of Lancaster. To give you some reference we are about an hour and a half North of down town Los Angeles, 3 hours north of San Diego, 4 hours west of Las Vegas, 4 hours south of Sacramento, and 5 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ronen ben Reuben: Heather was very personable and professional when we spoke to her about purchasing a Border Collie pup.She explained the process, there were no surprises. We made the final payment when we picked up the pup. Our pup is about 5 months old and already a member of the family. She appears healthy, intelligent and happy.If there are any health issues, the Powerhouse contract explains the policy.If you are looking for quality pets from a known breeder, I recommend Powerhouse.

David Smith: I received my border collie over 6 years ago from Powerhouse. Her name is shadow. She is the most remarkable, loving, extremely smart companion I have ever had. She is like my child and i treat her as such. She understands everything I say and does amazing things. She can jump over anything, catch any thing I throw and is very loyal. She’s calm and lays by my feet a lot. I cant imagine life without her. Everyone loves my Shadow as her heart and kindness knows no bounds. Thank you for breeding such fine animals.
Marie Fowler: . The breeder loves this breed and the pups are smart and gorgeous. My Oliver even knows how to manage the cats in the house because they're prone to fighting, all instinctual. No 2 dogs are the same, so better to work with breeder for what you are looking for, but I am thankful every day that I went to Powerhouse!

Blues Paralegal: I've had border collies since 1993 and my powerhouse dog is by far the best dog I've ever owned. I've loved them all but this boy has the sweetest temperament both with people and with other dogs. For those of you who enjoy herding he also has great herding instinct - which many breeders don't select for but is what border collies are meant to do. If you've never had your BC on sheep you should try it - if they have the instinct you and your dog will have a great time. I'm picky about where I get my dogs and Heather has a proven track record with both show and herding dogs. The picture is of him herding in a demonstration at a Scottish festival in Costa Mesa a few years back.

David Avery: A google search for goldendoodle puppies brought me to Tropico Kennels. Despite the world being upside down Lisa had set up a wonderful system of "Social Distancing" measures to allow us to meet the puppy and become owners of a beautiful new mini goldendoodle. She takes amazing care of the pups and sets them up for a healthy and happy life!
Spring Wilde: ON March 8th 2020 we brought our lovely Goldendoodle home from Lisa and Fred's home. The adoption was quick and seamless. We picked the puppy we wanted, sent in a "good faith" deposit, and went to pick up our puppy. She was better looking in person and very smart and easy to train. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Golden retriever/Poodle combo. The only serious question remains: Is the breeder professional? We say absolutely yes to Tropico Kennels and their owners, Lisa & Fred. They are wonderful people, kind, patient and have a wonderful website full of very good information. Read it all before you proceed, it is very beneficial. Our puppy is happy and healthy, and so very cute and smart. The best breeders providing such an important service with honesty and know-how.

I was skeptical at first because he’s a nervous and anxious dude and we have never done anything like a boarding place for my dog but I was extremely happy with everything they did. Jeffrey Murvin: Well cant complain. They took really good care of my two German Shepherds. The last place I boarded them at did something to one of them. He acted weird for a week after. I wasn't sure how they would act with the other dogs so I dropped them off for two hours a couple of days before. She said they were great. Unfortunately they didn't get a lot of yard time because it was super hot that weekend. This will definitely be their permanent boarding facility for now on. They also have grooming and day care...................................Well went again this week. I swear while I live here my dogs won't go anywhere else!
