Karla Bautista: Dawn is truly divine. She is the sole reason I am still able to feed my baby. My baby was born with a tongue tie, and while he was latching, he was having difficulty feeding himself effectively. Feedings would take between 45 minutes to an hour. My son lost two ounces in the hospital and was advised to supplement with formula. The nurses at the hospital advised me to try breastfeeding, pump for 15 minutes, and use formula as a top off if the baby showed any hunger cues right after nursing him. I returned home and resumed my routine. I was mentally and physically exhausted after a week. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with this schedule. She made it clear to me that it was just as important to take care of myself as it was to take care of my baby's needs.
