The Pomegranate Child is the very heart of our education system. From where their learning starts with child-led, child-discovered education and play to the day they graduate from Pomegranate Schools, the child is our driving force and inspiration.

We chose the name “Pomegranate” because the pomegranate fruit is represented in many cultures’ art and architecture as a symbol of knowledge, learning, wisdom, virtuousness, fruitfulness, prosperity, ambition, and joy.

We see each child in our program as a pomegranate seed that, with time, patience, and nurturing, will reach its full potential by exhibiting all these beautiful qualities!

Our physical environment is professionally designed to allow for the cultivation of beauty, creativity, innovation, the free flow and exchange of ideas, self-awareness, social-emotional regulation, and multiple intelligences.

How our different sites are managed: Pomegranate Schools is an umbrella organization that contracts with trusted and vetted providers of Family Child Care Homes (FCCH) and educators in providing curriculum and marketing support to them, as well as uniform customer service. We use a uniform marketing strategy, advertise and promote all of our sites together, and provide our clients with centralized customer service and curriculum. Pomegranate Schools is not a franchise nor does it own its partner sites. It is simply a network of in-home and commercial schools that share the same mission and passion for excellent care and education.

At Child's World Preschool, we understand the love and concern that goes into this decision. We provide a Reggio inspired developmental program, one that supports and allows children to grow to their best potential.

Child's World preschool was founded in 1972 by the University United Methodist Church and has been an integral part of the Irvine community ever since. We are a non-profit, faith-based program created to be an outreach to the local community.

The Child's World Preschool community is committed to active, reflective, creative learning that takes place in a safe environment enriched with encouragement and guidance. We celebrate the love of learning and are committed to nurturing high self-esteem and respect for others.

To introduce faith by experiencing the love of Christ through tangible everyday experiences and interactions within our preschool and church community.

We believe all children need and deserve a safe, loving place in which to learn and grow. We regard all children as unique individuals. We celebrate and value the diversity of each child's cultural and ethnic background. Our program emphasizes the development of strong self-esteem and feelings of independence and competence. We value the learning experience that is unique to each child. To enhance that experience we offer low student to teacher ratio (1:6) in each classroom and small groups (12 students per class).

Our teaching staff are experienced and educated in creating dynamic learning environments that appeal to young learners. We offer emergent curriculum that continues from the classroom into our outdoor environment. We work closely with Irvine Unified School District to ensure Kindergarten readiness for each student graduating from our program. We conference with parents three times throughout the year to ensure that all areas of development are addressed.

Child’s World Preschool offers an Early Morning Drop-Off program that runs from 8:00am-9:00am Monday through Friday. Reservations must be made in advance.

Children enrolled in our 9:00am-11:30am programs may attend our Lunch Bunch from 11:30am-12:30pm Monday through Friday. A nutritious lunch must be packed for your child on the days they attend Lunch Bunch. Reservations must be made in advance.

Children attending our 9:00am-1:00pm programs may attend our Extended Day Program that runs from 1:00pm-2:00pm Monday through Friday. Children will be picked up from their classrooms at the 1:00pm dismissal and taken to the Extended Day class. Reservations must be made in advance.

Brian A - “The teachers and the staff are absolutely fantastic! My wife and I have sent both our boys to Child's World Preschool and are huge advocates of their teaching style and playtime learning. I love it so much that I find myself volunteering there often when they need help setting up events. From my very first visit to the school, the first thing I was amazed with was the playground. It is large and has all of the bells and whistles that one would expect in a playground and then there's a whole lot more. They grow strawberries, sugar snap peas, carrots, tomatoes and everything else you can imagine. The children are then encouraged to touch and learn all about them. In addition, the playground toys change all the time and encourage children to experiment and learn about building using PVC pipes, water flow with water wheels, and all kinds of imagination learning toys.

The teachers and staff have become friends of ours. They are nurturing and caring to all of the children and have a fantastic philosophy of 'playtime learning'. My boys have learned so much from the teachers. Child's World Preschool will leave a lifelong lasting impression in all of our minds.

Meet Hollis Shobe! She is the Center Director at Irvine KinderCare in California. Holly holds an Early Childhood Education certificate with Administration requirements. She has been with KinderCare since 2014, and before that, she taught infants through pre-K for ten years. Every day, Holly looks forward to providing children with a nurturing learning environment. "When educating the minds of the youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts." – Dalai Lama. Outside of work, Holly enjoys fishing and skiing with her husband and sons.

4worldlovers: Choice to enroll for as many hours per day, or as many days per week. Choice of adding extra hours any day, (or extra days) aside from your routine schedule. Drop-off and pick-up whenever its suits your schedule. Open from 8:30am to 5:30pm. Sign-up for 3 or 6 or 9 hour programs.

Balanced focus on "Academic" as well as "Social development" addressing all the needs of the child, for eventual success in life. Due to short attention span of children, their daily activities schedule is broken down into half hour classes involving their motor-skills development and mental acuity enhancement.

Daily, we send home all the worksheets and artwork, that children work on. This way parents know real-time as to what level of learning their child is at. This also helps parents get involved in the child's learning by doing with them the extra work we send home. Pictures and videos are also messaged to parents almost on a daily basis. Periodically childs learning improvements assessments are documented with parents meetings as needed.

Emphasis on reading readiness helps kids perform at 2nd grade level by the time they graduate from the preschool.

We have seasonal events almost every month, mostly at venues other than the preschool. Families get to mingle with each other for extended time in an entertaining environment. These events are very nicely celebrated so checkout the pictures/videos online.

Thats why we offer a variety of enrichment classes. Currently we have enrichment classes ongoing in swimming, languages (French, Spanish, etc.), piano, ballet dancing, sculpting, arts/crafts, culinary science, sign language, gymnastics and music.

True to our name, we don't miss any opportunity to have fun and celebrate. Because of the many events that we have involving parents, all the parents know each other very well.

We differentiate ourselves from other local preschools by involving our students in additional fun events and activities, besides the 3Rs (Reading, wRiting and aRithmatic), to enhance the overall development of children.
