As a large regional food bank, we provide food for all who need it with a concentrated focus on our most vulnerable populations—children, working families, college students and seniors.


We purchase nutritious food and shelf-stable items—and grow a portion of our own produce—for distribution through our Partner Network, which provides food at more than 300 locations throughout Orange County. This vital network includes houses of worship, school and college pantries, afterschool programs, Permanent School Pantries, senior centers, transitional housing facilities, soup kitchens and shelters for the unhoused.


We welcome donations of food and funds from our generous donors. We also work with like-minded organizations to address the root causes of hunger, like poverty and missed educational and vocational opportunities. Together we can make life better for our entire OC community.

4worldlovers: Someone Cares Soup Kitchen provides a daily nutritional meal to homeless, unemployed, working poor families, senior citizens, the unemployed or under-employed, the mentally and physically challenged and most important, the children. We believe that no one should go to bed hungry on the street or otherwise. Therefore, the Soup Kitchen provides meals seven days per week at our facility in Orange County. Meals are served Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and a breakfast is provided every Saturday and Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 am.

Someone Cares Soup Kitchen was founded by Merle Hatleberg and has served more than 300 meals per day since 1986 to those who are in need in Orange County.

Once a week on Saturdays, we provide a food distribution program to our community that currently serves over 100 families in Orange County.

Someone Cares Tutoring Program assists local children from Kindergarten to 4th Grade in advancing their education by referral only from Pomona Elementary Administration.
