"One Mother, Many Peoples" Marian Rosary and Mass in Honor of Our Lady of the Angels


Join us Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 3:30 pm as Catholics from our great city come together for a Rosary and Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels. In 1781, the city of Los Angeles was founded under the patronage of Our Lady of the Angels. She remains the Mother of the diverse family of God in Los Angeles.


In observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 4, 2023, the Cathedral will celebrate Mass at 12:10pm. Parking for Mass attendees will be validated. There are no confessions and no 7am Mass on this day. The Cathedral will be open to visitors. Parking at the Cathedral will be available at the regular Holiday Flat Rate of $10. The Parish Offices, the Gift Shop and the Galero Grill will be closed on this day.


The St. John’s Seminary annual gala honoring distinguished alums and Catholic Leaders will take place at the Cathedral on Saturday, September 16, 2023. The gala helps raise funds to help further St. John’s mission to prepare good holy men for the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and our neighboring dioceses. Tickets are required. The annual Mass unites Catholic faithful from our tri-county Archdiocese of Los Angeles (Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara) and the Dioceses of Orange, San Bernardino, and San Diego, in prayer and celebration of the immigrant spirit of the United States. All are welcome to attend. Pre-procession begins at 3:00pm. This celebration is a joint effort with the Dioceses of Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego.

Pope Francis today appointed four local priests as new auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The appointments were announced Tuesday morning by the Holy See’s press bulletin and in a notice from Cardinal-designate Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States. The four bishops-elect were scheduled to be introduced at a press conference at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Our parish community has adapted A Stewardship Way of Life. There are three phases of stewardship which are: Stewardship of Time, Stewardship of Talent, and Stewardship of Treasure. Living a Stewardship Way of Life, requires us to put Jesus Christ first in our lives and to live every aspect for the glory of Him. It requires us to give of our Time, Talent and Treasure. Only giving one or two aspects makes us incomplete. It is only in giving of our entire self that we come to realize the graciousness and mercy of God. What you are is God’s gift to you… what you become is your gift to God! We are a vibrant parish, where believers are actively living as Disciples of Christ and, as such, it is incumbent upon us to be generous in the giving of our time, talent and treasure for the glory of God and His Church.
