In accordance with local and state regulations and with guidance of the Diocese of Oakland Education Office, St. Joachim School is planning to reopen its doors to students. We have compiled a plan to reopen our doors, which can be found at our Reopening Plan page.


St. Joachim is a vibrant Catholic school, founded in 1958 by the Benedictine Sisters. We integrate our Catholic faith with a relevant and rigorous curriculum for today’s students.


St. Joachim School is a One-to-One school and each student is provided with their own iPad or laptop, enabling all students and teachers to access the vast online resources available to them.


We believe that each child is a unique and precious gift from God, that within each child exists the gifts of the Spirit, which inspire enthusiasm for life and a passion for learning, that we are called by Jesus to serve one another and Grow in Faith Together.

4worldlovers: If you're attending church for the first time, you may be a bit nervous. No worries; we're here for you! Here's what you can expect out of your visit.

We know trying something new can sometimes be intimidating, but don't worry! Though many of our members come to church by themselves each week, you can sign up to have your local missionaries accompany you if you'd like.

We believe in following the example of Jesus Christ. This includes feeding the hungry, helping the needy, clothing the naked, and serving in our communities all around the world. Come join us!

Yes. Your local congregation has something for individuals of all ages.

Yes. Many of our members come to church by themselves each week. But if you'd like someone to attend with you the first time, you can sign up here!

There's no requirement to participate. On your first Sunday, you can sit back and just enjoy the service. If you want to participate by taking the sacrament or responding to questions, you're welcome to. Do whatever feels comfortable to you.

You can always count on one main meeting where we take the sacrament to remember the Savior, followed by classes separated by age groups or general interests.

Please wear whatever attire you feel comfortable wearing. In general, attendees wear "Sunday best," which could include button-down shirts, ties, slacks, skirts, and dresses.

About The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hayward

Attending church each Sunday is a respite from fast-paced daily living. Attend church at 26101 Gading Road to reflect, worship God, strengthen your spiritual connections, and focus on Jesus. Worship with a community of people who are trying to be more Christlike and learn from each other. There are two meetings in a two hour time. The main meeting is called sacrament meeting. This meeting consists of songs, prayers, and sermons (or “talks”) given by different members of the congregation and take the sacrament (or Communion). In addition to sacrament meeting, there are a variety of other classes for both children and adults. There’s something for everyone from 18 months old and up! Each meet together for a lesson and discussion that are based on a different section of scripture each week.
