He performed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee where he was bestowed with the honor of Chief Resident. He then spent an additional year to further his ophthalmic training with a Fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in Manhattan. Excited to move back home, Dr. Patel returned to the Bay Area and joined Turner Eye Institute.


Dr. Patel specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the cornea, anterior segment, and lens. He particularly enjoys cataract/intraocular lens surgery, refractive procedures (including LASIK and PRK), keratoconus treatments and corneal transplantation including cutting edge techniques such as partial thickness transplants.

He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Following his residency, he received specialized training in glaucoma at Tufts University – New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.

Dr. Alcid is an optometrist serving the Bay Area. She received her B.S. in Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, Dr. Alcid completed a residency in low vision at the Center for the Partially Sighted, where she was able to provide specialty care to patients of all ages.

Dr. Alcid manages and treats various eye conditions including double vision, dry eyes, and glaucoma. She is a member of the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

When she is out of the office, Dr. Alcid enjoys cooking, going on hikes, and visiting new restaurants.
