Bobbi is great! She's taken care of our dog and rabbits a few times now, and they all love her. She obviously really cares for them. She was also able to make an extra visit at a moment's notice when our return plans were delayed - couldn't thank her more!

I left my very best friend with her, unsure how it would work out (Bella is a very strong-willed dog) ... she came back spoiled, happy, and looking & smelling absolutely wonderful !

Bella was taking medication at the time, and Bobbi handled that like a champ (she even sent her back with some little food snacks to put her medication inside, to make it easier to give her a pill ;)

Bobbi is a god send! I had an unexpected vacation and needed someone to look after my elderly labrador and Pawsitive Pets saved the day! I felt the rate was fair (and much lower than other options) and Buddy got to hangout with other dogs while I was away. I had my Buddy stay with Bobbi for 12 days and I received updates every other day as well as pictures of Buddy socializing with other dogs. He probably had more fun there than at home and it was great to see him get along so well with her two small dogs. I will definitely be leaving my boy with them any time I need to be away! Buddy may have had a better vacation that I did and my friends and their pets would agree!

An initial meet & greet client interview with the potential dog(s) and/or pets is required to assure a good fit.

City Hikes Dog Walking & Pet Sitting does not participate in pack walking with dogs from multiple families. You will only be walking multiple dogs if they are from the same family.

We are an all weather dog walking/pet sitting establishment! Please have appropriate gear for all weather conditions and be comfortable walking in less than ideal weather if required.

If dogs get dirty on hikes or walks, please hose them off and towel dry them (owners will provide towels) before putting them back in house. Always wipe paws clean and check for any paw injuries that may have been attained on the walk.

A flexible window of time will be given to you in which to walk the dog. This usually is a 3-hour window of time during mid-day or evening hours (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. are the typical mid-day dog walk times; 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. are typical evening times). Morning walks are sometimes requested.

You will be given a key to the client’s home. Please keep the keys safe and on your person to avoid lockouts.

Occasionally, clients will be home on a sick day or taking a day off. Therefore, it is always good practice to announce yourself by calling the dogs name when entering the home. You must be comfortable interacting with clients.

Even if you are walking a very friendly dog (and most of them are) remember that some of the dogs you will see on the walk are NOT friendly. Keep the dog you are walking away from other dogs.

All dogs must be kept on leash on walks at all times.

Due to the bonding that occurs between sitter and animal we require a nine month commitment to working with City Hikes on an ongoing basis for any position. Please let us know if you have any questions about this or are not able to make this commitment.

Walks can be vigorous for younger or more energetic dogs or just a slow stroll for older or less energetic dogs. I will ensure that your dog has gone to the bathroom, before heading home for fresh water.

If your dog is very energetic and loves to socialize with other dogs, a pack walk is a great option. Young dogs in particular will benefit from the social and behaviorial aspects of a pack walk. A pack walk includes exploratory hiking and off-leash play in designated areas for dogs. Pack size is typically five dogs.

I will come to your house, and provide your pet with fresh food and water, administer any medications, and give them lots of love and attention.
