Professional Chess Training In East Bay. King’s Land Chess is Northern California East Bay based professional chess academy focuses on improving youth chess education, founded by Coach Kiki in 2012. We offer eight levels of group lessons for youth players from New Beginner level to National Master level. And small group Master class, Intensive Training Camps, Private Lessons, GAT program (Gifted and Talented training program, former KLC US Team class) and rated tournaments. We aim to develop successful chess kids who excel not only in the game, but in life. Chess for World, Wisdom for Life. Over the past ten years, KLC has trained thousands of young chess players and won many championships in world, national and state tournaments. Each year, several students are qualified for the TEAM USA. Over hundred students ranked in different age group of US top 100. In 2022, there are eight KLC students are invited to be the official US Representatives at the 2022 World Youth and Cadets Championships. In the US Top Player lists, KLC students are ranked No.1 and No.2 in several age groups.


King’s Land Chess offers a series of camps for intensive training. We welcome any child 6 -16 years to attend. ​KLC camps include Intensive Training camps, Grand Master camps, Tournament Preparation camps and Summer camps.


​The programs will provide chess training on chess tactics, opening repertoire, middle game Strategy, ending skills, game analysis, and other activities including quick and blitz games, bughouse game, chess 960 and trophy tournaments.

US Chess published the US August 2022 Top Player lists this week. KLC students are ranked No.1 and No.2 in several age groups.

• In Top Age 8, Lerui Zheng (1886) is ranked No.2; Young Cui (1804) is ranked No. 7; Suhas Indukuri (1695) is ranked No.15;


• In Top Age 10, Patrick Liu (2100) is ranked No. 1, All American Team; Jashith Karthi (1933) is ranked No. 13;

• In Top Girls Age 10, Jenny Qi (1654) is ranked No.1; Ruyi Hu (1474) is ranked No.6;

• In Top Girl Age 9, Iris Li (1908) is ranked No. 2, Tianmu Wang (1376) is ranked No.15, Melissa Xu (1334) is ranked No.17;

15-28 of September, after 11 rounds of exciting chess battles, KLC students shine at FIDE World Cadets Chess championship 2022 in Batumi, Georgia. FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship is the highest level chess tournament in the world for youth players under 12 years old. There are 6 sections in this great event, Girls U8, Open U8, Girls U10, Open U10, Girls U12 and Open U12. This year, a total of 735 young players from all over the world participated. There are 26 players in the US Team, and almost 1/4 of the team are KLC students.

In Open U10, Patrick Liu won world 3rd place with 8.5 points. Patrick is the US Team OR of 2022 and member of All American Team.

In Girls U10, Iris Li placed 11th with 7.5 points. Iris is the US Team OR of 2022.

After the 8th round, Suhas was sick and almost went to emergency. With strong mental strength, he fought to the end, and gained 3 points in the last 4 rounds, ranked 8th place among 150 chess players. Congratulations to all the players. You all have put in the courage and put in the effort, so now it’s your time to shine!

In 2022, KLC had 10 students qualified for the US official Representatives (US Team). They earned this honor by meeting the peak post-tournament (PPT) rating and activity criteria in the age and gender categories according to the Scholastic National Invitational Event and Award Requirements and subsequent Executive Board motion to adjust the rating and activity requirement periods.​
