4worldlovers: Here we have a recently completed 'Lips' sculpture commission. This sculpture was hand carved in urethane foam from photo references provided by our client and some in house concept sketches. Once the sculpted form was approved, the surfaces were primed and prepped to 600g and then molded and cast in fiberglass. One casting was finished in a custom tinted red candy coat over spray chrome with a cut and polished gloss clear coat and the second set was prepped with copper, polished and electro plated in rose gold.

This larger than life sculpture was commissioned by Saatchi Art for installation in the luxurious lobby at Landsby Apartments in San Francisco, CA. The sculpture was designed, sculpted and fabricated by Nick and his dynamic art department team at Artscape Sculpture Studio in Los Angeles, CA. The sculpture was hand carved in foam on a steel welded armature with steel base plates. The artwork was then sprayed with urethane flex and rigid hardcoat and then meticulously surfaced to perfection.


Here we have the fabrication of 'Rearrangeable Rainbow Blocks' that we produced for Jessica Silverman Gallery and artist Judy Chicago for FOG Fair in San Francisco CA. This project involved the fabrication of six 1' x 1'x 4' and six 2' x 2' x 1' block sculptures which we waterjet from #316 stainless steel sheet and tig welded together.


We just completed this 7' aluminum sculpture fabrication for artist Dave Kinsey. The sculpture was designed by the artist and fabricated here at Artscape Sculpture Studio in Sun Valley CA.


The sculptures shapes were waterjet from 1" thick aluminum sheet which we assembled via mating noches that were both bonded and mechanically fastened.


NIKI DE SAINT PHALLE 'GANESH':13' SCULPTURE RESTORATION FOR NCAF AND THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART SAN DIEGO

I was recently honored with the mission to restore Niki de Saint Phalle's 'Big Ganesh' sculpture for NCAF and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. The original sculpture was fabricated by the artist in 1998 and after being on display outdoors for several years in SD, it was in dire need of some TLC.

Designed and fabricated wall hung airplane sculptures commissioned by Kevin Barry Art Associates for Air Lease Corporation headquarters in Century City, Los Angeles.

The first sculpture is inspired by and based on a deconstructed Boeing 787. It was fabricated in 1/4" and 3/16" mild steel rod which was hand formed with custom made bending tools. The 'Boeing Plane' sculpture is 6 1/2' Wide by 7' tall and 4" deep. The sculpture was tig welded and painted with a metallic silver finish.

Hand sculpted and cast in bronze, this Insulin Molecule Sculpture was sculpted and fabricated by Nick Petronzio from a 3d rendering of an insulin molecule which was created and developed by Arthur D. Riggs Ph.D. and Keiichi Itakura Ph.D. (pictured below). The sculpture was commissioned by The City of Hope through its generous donors as an acknowledgment of the scientific achievement and innovation made in developing the insulin molecule which is used today to treat people with diabetes.

The original scrabble form was hand fabricated in mdf and formed birch wood from which a fiberglass mold was made and six castings were made in laminated fiberglass. Once assembled, a welded internal stainless steel armature was fabricated. The completed sculpture was painted in black and white acrylic urethane with masked and sprayed vinyl text and a protective gloss top coat.

This sculpture titled 'Tube and Splashes' was designed and fabricated by Nick Petronzio for a site specific installation in front of the dermalogica headquarters in Carson, CA. The sculpture concept was sketched by the artist and a 10" scale model was hand carved for approval by the dermalogica team. The model is on permanent display in the companys lobby along side the concept sketch as well as a video that documents the process that went into the making of this piece.
