West Garden Grove Youth Baseball (WGGYB) promotes the idea of growth in baseball skills at all levels, good sportsmanship, honesty, respect, loyalty, and a sense of teamwork through a positive competitive environment so our youth may become strong, well-adjusted members of the community.


Based in Garden Grove, California, WGGYB is an all-volunteer organization that offers both Fall and Spring baseball programs to boys and girls ages 2-14. We serve Garden Grove and all of Orange County. WGGYB is a member of Protect Our Nation's Youth (PONY) Baseball and plays by PONY rules. The difference between the PONY brand of baseball and Little League is that PONY more closely resembles Major League Baseball (MLB) play. PONY plays by MLB rules allowing both lead-offs and stealing starting at age 9 and field dimensions are more appropriately sized. Spring season begins mid-February until mid-May while Fall season begins late-August until mid-November.

4worldlovers: Garden Grove Pony Baseball league depends on our guests to follow our permit rules set by the Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) which includes No Alcohol, No Smoking/Vaping and No Dogs on Campus.

Many memories have been made, shared, and most of all held a special place in the hearts of many who not only stepped foot on these 4 baseball fields, but for those who worked behind the scenes to make all this possible. Baseball will come alive again on these BEAUTIFUL 4 Fields allowing the kids of our future to make their own memories and share them with their children like we do with ours today.

Practice day(s) are up to the Manager of your team. Field availability also plays a big role in scheduling practice(s)

During the Spring Season 2 games are played each week one during the week and one on Saturdays. Game schedules will be handed out once teams have been established and the schedule has been finalized by the district.

What team name will my ball player be on? Angels? Dodgers? Giants?


Your team Manager will either pick his/her favorite team or ask the team which one they prefer to be for the season.

Player Evaluations (tryouts) will be held on Jan 28th. Practices will also begin the week of February 6th and games are set to begin in early March and going through the end of May. Parents and athletes can expect 1- 2 practices during the week, depending on the division and the coaching staff of the team your child is with.

Games times may vary on Saturdays with the earliest being 8 am. Games during the week typically start after 5:00 pm. We will know game start times and field locations once the Spring Season Schedules are completed. Your team manager will also inform their team of what time everyone is expected to be at the field prior games for warmup.

What are the minimal commitments as a member of the NEGGLL family?

For the Spring 2023 Season each family is required to participate and complete the ballplayer fundraiser for each ballplayer that is registered to play. Also, each family is required to sign-up and work 2 snack bar shifts during the season for each ballplayer. A $75 buy-out is available for each shift you choose not to work. We would love for all members of NEGGLL to work their shifts and not just buyout but understand that always isn't possible.
