4worldlovers: Caring and mighty staff members have been laser-focused on our mission over the past two difficult years. Our ability to keep doors open, feed the community, and bridge the academic gap is a catalyst for the strongest Boys & Girls Club movement we’ve seen in 73 years. Jose Ramirez, 2012 USA Olympic Boxer and WBC WBO Unified Light Welterweight World Champion, paid a visit to our Boys & Girls Club on March 22nd. In accompany was Minimum-weight World Champion Female Boxer Seniesa Estrada and members of our Fresno Police Department. The event was called Hometown Heroes. It was a celebration of the heroes youth have to look up to.
Nevin Gomez is a Zimmerman Boys & Girls Club Alumnus who decided to give back to the Club that gave so much to him as a teenager. He decided to bring his hair cutting skills to the Club and offer haircuts to all the members.
“The Boys & Girls Club is a special place for me. It kept me out of trouble as a teenager and I wanted to give back,” said Nevin, “I don’t know what every kid is going through but I know their neighborhood. That’s enough to make me want to serve.”

Great Center for Kids to grow in education, mentor-ship and mostly a great place to feel loved. Laqusha is a blessing to the Pinedale community and is doing an amazing job with the center given the limited tools she's working with.
My brother and I played the fanfare at the opening of the Boys Club around 1959. I have fond memories of the people of Pinedale. Pinedale is no longer out in the sticks. Hello to all of my old friends. Julian Parra M.D.
