4worldlovers: The Office of Family Violence Prevention (OFVP), on behalf of a strong partnership of local government, law enforcement, courts and community-based organizations, continues to move forward with implementing the strategic plan developed for a Solano Family Justice Center (SFJC). The SFJC began operating in February 2011 to offer victims of child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse and sexual assault an opportunity to build hope and new futures.

The SFJC operates under the auspices of the Solano County District Attorney’s Office and has recently relocated to 604 Empire Street, Fairfield. The District Attorney has indicated her strong support for a violence prevention approach and the partnership between the DA and the SFJC presents a unique opportunity for strengthening the DA's victim advocacy efforts. The Solano Family Justice Center provides the following on-site services:

If you are in need of direct services as a result of domestic and/or family violence, please call the SFJC Reception Desk at 707-784-7635 to arrange an appointment with or speak with an SFJC Staff Social Worker. While we encourage you to make an appointment to meet with SFJC staff, drop-ins are also welcome between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.

SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano County Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for the County's newly adopted Ag Pass program. The Board of Supervisors recently approved the program to proactively help the local agricultural community prepare for natural disasters. The program trains and preemptively issues a pass to commercial farmers, ranchers, ag processors and horse stable operators so they may enter evacuation areas to care for crops and livestock during emergency events.

County selected to join the Safety and Justice Challenge IMPACT Network focused on reducing over-incarceration of individuals with behavioral health needs

SOLANO COUNTY –– County officials are pleased to announce that Solano County has been selected to join the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation's Safety and Justice Challenge: IMPACT Network. The national initiative is aimed at leveraging behavioral health strategies to reduce over-incarceration of individuals with behavioral health needs and eliminating racial inequities that persist in the local criminal justice system. Solano County will be participating starting March 24, 2023 through December 2024.
