We won't however pass up the perfect grape regardless of AVA (check out our St. Helena Napa Cab Rosé below). We focus on single varietal wines to provide a true look at the unique characteristics of each varietal without blending out their distinctive attributes. Welcome to Christopher Cellars, a small, family-owned winery located in Elk Grove, California, just between Lodi and Downtown Sacramento. Our winery is a celebration of the unique terroir and diverse grape varieties grown in the Lodi Appellation.

Our focus is on producing wines that express a true sense of place, with a style that emphasizes balance, delicacy, and nuance over boldness and power. We work closely with individual Lodi growers to source the highest-quality grapes, then use a low-intervention winemaking approach to allow them to fully express themselves.

Our portfolio includes a range of varietals, including some lesser-known gems like Cinsault and Carignan, as well as more familiar grapes like Zinfandel and Chardonnay. We use French oak sparingly and only when necessary, aiming to enhance the wine's complexity without overpowering its natural flavors.

4worldlovers: Sheldon Wine shop prides itself on providing high quality wines. In fact, 90% of the wines we carry are 90 points or higher, we believe quality is paramount to everything we do. The shop is family owned and operated and is located in a 14,000 square foot complex that also houses a McDonalds, Subway, AM/PM, and Big Kahuna Yogurt & Juicery known as Sheldon Centre complex.

The owner of the shop Gil Moore grew up in the vineyards of Lodi taking care of grape vines and learning the trade of wine making. He worked in wineries during his college years to help him earn his master’s in public administration. When he couldn’t find a job after college he decided to move his family to Tahoe where he could sell wine. Throughout the next 30 years of his career he was able to build and continues to run a very profitable and growing business with his family by his side. With his vast experience and refined pallet of the industry’s best wines he decided to open Sheldon Wine shop.

The Wine shop takes a different approach than most standard wine retailer’s, by allowing their customers the ability to taste and critique wines during their wine tasting events that take place every week, Tuesday through Saturday from 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Their high-end wines such as Rombauer Chardonnay, Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon, Caymus, Jordan, and other wines around the country are often sampled during these tastings.
