Our Second Tyme Around Shoppe located on Downey Avenue in downtown Downey since 1966, is the major continuous fundraising activity of the chapter. It is staffed primarily by volunteer members of Assistance League Downey on a year-round schedule.


Our thrift shop is a thriving business and its income contributes greatly to the annual operating budget. This is a great place to find missing china pieces, holiday decorations, craft items, kitchen accessories, and even furniture.

Items of gently-used clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, linens, books, collectibles, small household items, and furniture can be made during shop hours, preferably through the back entrance. Our inventory comes in daily, and we get them out as soon as they are inspected and priced. You never know what treasure will come through the door so visit us often.

Donations of items are accepted by appointment only, please call 562-869-0232 to schedule your time. We ask that you not leave items outside our doors when the store is closed. Delivery of items can be made through the back entrance only, we can not accept items through the front.
