4worldlovers: This special class will be held on the third Saturday of each month. Every month we will explore Buddha’s teachings that will grow our wisdom, deepen our compassion and acquaint our mind with powerful meditations that will move us closer and closer to a peaceful mind and real happiness. We will learn how to access the power of our own mind and become familiar with methods to free ourselves and wake up to our true potential. We may even begin to believe that enlightenment is possible!

In this half day retreat we will ask some very big questions. Normally we don’t take the time to ask these questions because we are preoccupied with many daily questions that need to be answered. They are important, too. But Buddha was very interested in big questions about the nature of our experience and the difference between the material world and the immaterial world. By learning what Buddha taught we will begin to ask and perhaps answer some of these BIG and meaningful questions. Just looking at things differently and thinking bigger will shift our perspective and put problems into perspective.

Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche explains in his text, Modern Buddhism, that “The universal compassion accomplished through the practice of Sutra teachings, and the wisdom of Mahamudra Tantra accomplished through the practice of Tantric teachings, are like the two wings of a bird. Just as both wings are equally important for a bird to fly, so both Sutra and Tantra are equally important for practitioners seeking enlightenment.” Become acquainted with these precious teachings and explore the ultimate path that Buddha prepared for us. This introductory retreat will reveal the special methods and purpose of Tantra to inspire us and guide us on the path.
