4worldlovers: Mayor Breed and Treasurer Cisneros Celebrate Success of San Francisco Museums for All Program

Mayor London N. Breed and Treasurer José Cisneros today announced that the SF Museums For All program was used more than 130,000 times by low-income San Franciscans for free admissions to 22 museums and cultural institutions. A new case study and impact report released today by The Financial Justice Project in the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector describes how the program increased the economic and racial diversity of museum visitors.

“Museums are for all of us,” said Treasurer José Cisneros. “San Francisco has world-class museums and cultural institutions, but too many San Franciscans cannot afford the admissions prices. This program proves that when we remove the cost barrier, more San Franciscans will participate in the cultural life our city.”

The Class of 2023 is also the first graduating class that is part of the Kindergarten to College (K2C), marking a new milestone in City history.

“We started K2C so that every student in our public schools would know that they have a future worth saving for,” said San Francisco Treasurer José Cisneros. “K2C is beginning to deliver on the promise that every child growing up in San Francisco has not only a dream for college, but a pathway.”

Treasurer José Cisneros Announces Resources to Assist Property Owners and Businesses with Commercial Vacancy Tax Filing

The Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector announced resources to help property owners and businesses with their Commercial Vacancy Tax obligations before the February 28, 2023 deadline.

“This is a unique tax that requires thousands of property owners and businesses across San Francisco to take action and file by February 28th,” said Treasurer José Cisneros. “My office has created a multitude of resources to help people understand the tax and to make the filing process as simple as possible.”

The Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector held a public budget hearing on February 10, 2023. At the hearing, staff from the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector shared budget priorities for the FY2023-24 & FY2024-25 budget cycle. The hearing also provided an opportunity for comment from members of the public.
