I am based out of Seattle and I work as a web developer. I am learning Mandarin because I am half-Chinese and really haven’t prioritized learning any of the language up to this point in my life, and I’d like to get a bit more in touch with my roots.


I'm known to most people as Sally in Canada and in the US, but my Korean name is Yousong, which apparently means creative pine tree. I am an architectural designer in Seattle, and I am learning Mandarin because I wish to be able to communicate on a deeper level with my boyfriend's family, who are all Chinese.


I'm an independent game developer aspiring to learn Mandarin Chinese to converse with friends, better understand the Chinese games and tech market, and learn more about the general culture. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, cooking, and going on bike rides.
