4worldlovers: Dave’s Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller’s (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and the chicken was the star. Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender chicken imaginable, each piece is topped with Dave’s signature mix of spices ranging from No Spice to “The Reaper.”

Some people dream of being astronauts, some people want to be president. Todd Graves, our Founder, dreamed of opening an amazing Chicken Finger Restaurant.

His dream soon became his passion. Even though his business plan received the lowest grade in the class and every bank he met with told him his idea wouldn't work, he was more determined than ever.

Undeterred, he set off on a course to earn the money himself, working 90-hour weeks in an oil refinery in Los Angeles and commercial fishing in Alaska. It was hard and sometimes dangerous work, but it paid off.

With his hard-earned money and a little help from the friends he made along the way, he began building the first Raising Cane's at the North Gates of LSU in Baton Rouge - Now known as The Mothership.
