4worldlovers: Due to the amount of rain, JOBL’s recreational fields have been made unplayable for the Spring season. Our fields, which were in need of repair prior to the start of the season, have become too dangerous to allow for our young players to play baseball on this Spring. JOBL Board is taking this opportunity to revitalize the complex with the following improvements:

1. We are purchasing a trailer style bathroom with separate entrances for both male and female, each with running water.

2. We have begun to update the snack shack and bring it back to life with new equipment and an updated menu.

A. We will be filling all outfield holes to ensure a smooth field for players to run to catch fly balls.

D. We are overhauling the bullpens for all fields to make the safe and easily useable.

In addition, we realize that in this economy things are very tight. So, our prices will be reducing next season. ALSO, everyone who signed up for this Spring season, is not only getting their full refund, but also a credit of $50 toward next Spring (2024) season.

The Board realizes that this is an inconvenience and apologize. We hope you return to the new and improved JOBL.

The Jr. Optimist Baseball/Softball League (“JOBL”) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) youth organization dedicated to the teaching of baseball and softball to the area youth. JOBL serves players primarily from Concord, Martinez, Clayton, Pittsburg, Clyde and Walnut Creek. JOBL was founded in 1963 and currently resides on property leased by Tesoro Martinez. JOBL is an all-volunteer league and its complex consists of fifteen (15) playing fields, two playground areas, a snack-shack and a conference room/equipment storage van area.

The Daniel E. Boatwright Youth Sports Complex is 9 acres on Campus Drive at Alberta Way, adjacent to the Cal State University Contra Costa Campus.

This park was designed for organized youth sports league play, with 5 soccer fields and one baseball field.
