Sifu Sung Choi is the head instructor (known as Sifu) for West Coast Wing Chun San Diego. Sifu Sung began teaching in San Diego back in 2011 with a very simple goal in mind: bring authentic Ip Man Wing Chun to America’s Finest City. Since then the kwoon (our school) has grown into a family environment where we don’t just train together, we grow together. West Coast Wing Chun San Diego offers an Intro to Wing Chun Boot Camp on a rolling basis in San Diego, California, held on Tuesdays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Although we offer a complete Wing Chun curriculum, our instructors have designed an intensive three month training program for prospective students. Students must complete and pass this course to be accepted as an official West Coast Wing Chun San Diego family member and continue their studies. The WC Boot Camp is intended to prepare students for the discipline and the physical and mental demands of a traditional martial art. The boot camp will contain rigorous technique based drills; practical applied Wing Chun techniques, principles and theories; the complete Siu Lim Tao form; as well as Qi Gong breathing training.

Our martial arts programs teach Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun style self defense, and Japanese style Jiu Jitsu. Northern Shaolin Kung Fu is a traditional style of Chinese martial arts that emphasizes long range techniques, quick advances and retreats, wide stances, quickness, and agility. It also develops balance, self control, and a strong understanding of body mechanics.


Wing Chun self defense is introduced in our teenage lessons but fully developed in our adult curriculum. This style focuses on practical application of self-defense moves and being able to fully protect oneself efficiently and effectively.

Grappling and ground self defense teach people how to react if you are knocked to the ground. While not necessarily a desired position, a grappling match can be very advantageous for the person who knows how to use the ground to their advantage. Our curriculum teaches all ages how to effectively prepare for this situation.

Kung Fu and self-defense training for students in grades K through 5 provided by 5 Elements Martial Arts & Wellness Center. Cali Combat was just what I was looking for! I have studied martial arts for years but I wanted to supplement my experience with some combative/tactical skills and Jeremiah does just that. His program is a comprehensive, practical system that includes training in grappling, striking, and weapons. Jeramiah is a personal and great instructor. From all the lessons we have done we went fluidly from one martial art to the next and worked the fundamentals and the basics that are required As a martial artists myself for over ten years in various styles Jeremiah brings a lot to the table as an instructor and as a mentor. His martial art based knowledge is practical and useful. Coming from real world experience I highly recommend training with him.

Jeremiah hails from a solid combative martial art background. Not only does he teach JKD, but he epitomizes what JKD is: Explore other styles and methods. He never is satisfied he has found the Truth. And his students benefit greatly from his thirst for knowledge and diversity. Truly an honor to train with such talent and knowledge.

We had Jeramiah come give a six week course in Krav Maga at our Synagogue. Those who came had a great time and learned a lot. I would like to thank Jeramiah for being willing to go over the same techniques as much as was needed until we felt comfortable, and never batting an eye if asked to stay a few minutes late.

Had the opportunity to train with Sifu Jeremiah while visiting San Diego recently. It was an awesome experience.
