4worldlovers: The Carmel Valley Skate Park opened 2008. The park is a 13,500-square-foot facility with a challenge course and cast in place concrete bowl. It also includes urban elements such as railings, stairs, banks and ledges. The park is equipped with night lighting allowing for it to stay open after the sun goes down. There are restrooms, a shade structure and sitting/observation areas as well.

The project design started in January 2007 with input from the Carmel Valley community members, including several skate board professionals. Construction started in March 2008 with the grand opening on Nov. 22, 2008. It was funded via the Carmel Valley Facilities Benefit Assessment.
