One of the leading projects of the Allegretto Music School is Certificate of Merit annual examinations affiliated with Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC). The testing includes writing portion of music theory, technique, ear training and graded repertoire performance for the CM. Every year several students of the school are selected to participate in the MTAC Annual Convention.

In addition to several local/ regional recitals and competitions, the students are encouraged to volunteer at community events. Participants receive a Music Student League Certificate by the MTAC to present at their high schools.
