The San Leandro Rifle & Pistol Range is an indoor/outdoor shooting facility open to the public and law enforcement agencies.

The San Leandro Range has been in operation to the public since 1957 and is owned and operated by the Optimist Club of San Leandro. The Optimist Club has been a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) since 1948, and our staff is NRA certified. Income from the range supports the Club's various community service projects.

One of the few remaining indoor/outdoor ranges in the Bay Area available for public use.

Please look at our range Activities page for additional events available to the public. We also offer private rental classrooms available for instruction. These private classes are set up through independent instructors, not the San Leandro Rifle & Pistol Range. In other words, private lessons are set up through individual instructors, not the range itself.

Please be aware that all firearms MUST be in a case when entering or leaving our range facility.

Indoor Range: Lanes are open to the public except for every Wednesday after 5:00 PM when it is reserved for our Junior Rifle Club

On weekdays, you might want to call ahead or check out the calendar on this page as Law Enforcement and other groups use the ranges at times on those days for practice and qualification. Thank you!

We are a minority and woman owned small business offering private firearms instruction and education to new shooters and gun owners in the San Francisco Bay Area.

For those new to firearms, it can be intimidating and hard to know where to start. We offer professional and approachable training and education in an inclusive, non-intimidating environment. Our focus is on safety and fundamentals.

PISTOL: The Public Pistol Range has covered shooting positions up to 50 foot targets. 60 benches*

SAFETY ORIENTATION: WAIVER & SAFETY ORIENTATION: All new shooters MUST complete the 2020 USI Liability Waiver and watch the Firearm Safety and Range operations videos and complete online test about both videos and general gun safety prior to arriving at USI for your first visit to use Rifle & Pistol Ranges. After check in procedure your first time you will receive a “Blue Card” which shows you have successfully completed the waiver and safety video orientation testing. YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR DRIVER’S LICENCE AND SHOW THIS CARD EVERY TIME YOU SHOOT AT USI. All subsequent visits will be quicker check-in’s.

Bring your firearms to the range UNLOADED and in a FIREARMS CASE (NOT a backpack or similar) THIS INCLUDES CCW HOLDERS AND OFF-DUTY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS.

Firearms should always be transported in accordance with California State Law.(CASES SHOULD BE LOCKABLE WHEN TRANSPORTING).

4worldlovers: The Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Club (CPRPC) is the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier Olympic-style Precision Shooting club, based at the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Siebel Firearms Training Range. The range is owned and managed by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department. Public shooting is facilitated by volunteers from the Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Club who operate as its Range Safety Officers (RSO).

The range is open to the public for shooting rifles by reservation only.

The range may be closed due to inclement weather, without prior notice.

The range may be closed for Law Enforcement training, without prior notice.

Handguns, shotguns (with only bead sights/no sights), and Black Powder firearms are NOT permitted.

Bullets that are solid brass, bronze, copper or lead and jacketed lead core brass, bronze or copper bullets, slugs for scoped/sighted shotguns are allowed.

No steel core, steel bi-metal, or steel jacketed ammo (all ammo will be checked with magnets, if bullet is magnet, it’s not permitted). Tracer ammo is not permitted. Armor penetrating ammo is not permitted. All painted color tipped ammo is not permitted (red, orange, green, black, blue, white, etc.). Buckshot or birdshot ammo is not permitted.

No ammo sales or gun rentals are offered at the range.

Shooters must bring all firearms to the Range unloaded and inside rifle cases or gun bags (locked if required by law).

Shooters must bring chamber flags for each firearm. There are none offered for sale at the Range.

Everyone, not just shooters, must wear Eyes and Ears, eye and ear protection, when anywhere on the range. There is no personal protection equipment for offered sale at the Range.

There is limited space at each shooting lane so please bring no more than 3 rifles per visit. There are no rifle racks or ready tables.

Saturdays and Sundays 7am-5pm are Members-Only rimfire and airgun times.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays evenings, when open to the public, Members may use the 4 Members-only lanes for 100-yard rifle shooting.

Members must comply with relevant Public Range Rules, and in addition:

All members must display membership ID badges while at the range facility.

Be courteous and polite to all Law Enforcement at the range.

Saturdays and Sundays 7am-5pm are Members Only weekend range time.

Only airguns or rimfire pistol and rifles may be used on weekends (no centerfire).

A minimum of 2 RSO-certified members (wearing RSO vests) must be present to shoot at the range during the weekends.

You may not shoot alone at the range, even if you are an RSO.

Members may invite guests to compete during weekend matches or for evaluation for membership.

4worldlovers: The Martinez Gun Club is open every Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. and EVERY Wednesday night is Family Night with a full professionally catered meal from 6:00 until about 7:30!

The bar is open (refrain from alcoholic beverages until after you shoot).
