Sub-Acute Units provide a specialized level of care to medically fragile patients. These patients do not need acute care; but are to ill to be cared for by most skilled facilities.

Frequently, these individuals are ventilator dependent, have trach’s or require around the clock respiratory treatments. Also, recent stroke (CVA) patients that require maximum assistants and may be too low functioning for Acute Rehab.
