Founded in 1941, the Kern County Museum provides interpretive experiences through historical objects that tell significant stories about Kern County life. The museum provides a meaningful learning environment for visitors of all ages and showcases the unique importance of the region in shaping the history of California and the nation.


We have a new mobile app for the Kern County Museum that contains exclusive histories and photographs of the 50+ historic buildings located at the Kern County Museum’s Pioneer Village. The Kern County Museum app will enhance your experience while exploring Pioneer Village. Through the app you have access to extra information about our historic structures and exclusive photos from the museum’s personal collection. Simply enter the stop number located on the informational sign outside of the building you are viewing, or search through the list of buildings, click, and enjoy!
