4worldlovers: The Contra Costa County Fair R.V. Park is situated along our fairgrounds at 1201 W 10th St in Antioch, CA. Our facilities include 18 total spaces with full hook-ups, including electrical, water and sewer.

The fee is $40 per day, payable in advance for the number of days of your stay.

We do not accept reservations. All spaces are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

4worldlovers: Although little remains of the coal mining communities, a historic cemetery serves as a monument to the lives of the former residents. Buried here are children who died in epidemics, women who died in childbirth, and men who died in mining disasters and of other things. Although over 10 nationalities resided in the mining area, Rose Hill Cemetery was a Protestant burial ground, and many of the people buried here were Welsh.

Over the years, vandalism has taken its toll on the cemetery, which the Park District is attempting to restore. If you have information concerning people buried here or the location of missing gravestones, please call the Black Diamond office at (510) 544-2750.

The Greathouse Visitor Center is located in an underground chamber excavated in the mid-1920s. View the workings of a 20th-century sand mine and learn about the lives of 19th-century coal and 20th-century sand miners. The center contains displays, photographs, and artifacts related to the park’s coal and sand mining eras.

Admission is free. Parking fee is $5 per vehicle on weekends and holidays, when the kiosk is attended (Visa/Master Card, cash or check only). For more information, call (510) 544-2750. We'll discuss the dangers of working deep in the layers of the earth and explore the area's fascinating geology. For safety reasons, you may tour the mine only as part of a guided tour and all participants must be at least seven years old.

Brannan Island State Recreation Area is a maze of waterways through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This park northeast of San Francisco Bay, has countless islands and marshes with many wildlife habitats and many opportunities for recreation, including boating and swimming.

One of the outstanding water-oriented recreation areas in the world, the area offers great fishing, including striped bass, sturgeon, catfish, bluegill, perch and bullhead. Franks Tract, a protected wetland marsh, is home to beaver, muskrat, river otter, mink and 76 species of birds.

The park is on Highway 160 a few miles south of the city of Rio Vista in Sacramento County. The park is located on the lower peninsular extension of Brannan Island, and is surrounded by the Sacramento River on the west, Three Mile Slough on the southeast, and Seven Mile Slough on the northeast.

The park has a ten lane launch ramp, over 140 campsites and areas for picnicking and swimming.

Sites vary from 20 feet to 36 feet in length. While booking your site Please check SITE length and width under amenities to be sure your unit and vehicle will fit properly.

Day use areas include the group picnic area located at the Ramadas, and Seven Mile Slough picnic area. The group picnic facility and Seven Mile Slough day use area close at sunset. Windy Cove closes at the hour posted at the entrance road to Windy Cove.

Seven Mile Slough picnic area includes picnic tables, barbecues and drinking water. The restroom facilities were completed late in 1997 and include flush toilets and outdoor cold showers. A Life Jacket Lending Board will be available, however no Lifeguarding Services are currently provided. Ample parking is close to the beach.

The Ramadas have shaded picnic structures with large barbecues, picnic tables, water and trash receptacles. A large open grassy area is adjacent to the site for games. The closest restroom to the Ramadas is located north of the swim beach along Seven Mile Slough.

In all of these day use areas possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

At Seven Mile Slough and Windy Cove, beaches are off limits to dogs. Dogs are allowed in the picnic area north of the restrooms, along Seven Mile Slough. Dogs must be on leash and in the owners control at all times.

The park is a high use recreation area which receives heavy use from May through October. The late fall, winter and early spring months are much slower paced at the park and offer some of the best fishing opportunities of the year.

Sandy Beach County Park is located on the Sacramento River just south of Rio Vista. Open year-round, the park offers campsites, picnic grounds, a sand beach (swimming is not allowed due to strong currents and sudden drop offs, no lifeguard on duty), and a 24-hour boat launch.


SANDY BEACH PARK MAY CLOSE AFTER FILLING TO CAPACITY ON BUSY, NICE WEATHER DAYS, ESPECIALLY HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. VISITORS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE PARK DURING THE CLOSURE. ANYONE WHO LEAVES THE PARK DURING THE CLOSURE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RE-ENTER UNTIL THE PARK REOPENS.


Note: dogs and glass containers are NOT allowed in the day use area (picnic area and beach).

The campground includes picnic tables, barbecue pits, hot showers, flush toilets and an RV dump station. Each of the 42 individual campsites has hook-ups for electricity and water. A camp host and park resident are on site to assist you so that your visit is enjoyable. Dogs on leash are welcome in the campground (Must stay in campground and attended to at all times.).
