Bistro St. Germain is located in the heart of Old Town Seal Beach on bustling Main Street. We are open Sunday-Thursday from 11 am – 9 pm and Friday-Saturday from 11 am – 10 pm.

Bistro St. Germain, like most French ideas, was born around a dinner table. Three brothers living in three different continents, were at last together again, celebrating a long awaited family reunion. Life had taken each brother into similar but separate paths. Pascal was an established restaurant owner in Seal Beach, CA. His brother, Armand had remained in Grenoble, France to take care of the family restaurant established in 1980, and Laurent, who married their sister Danielle, had his own French restaurant in Siem Reap, Cambodia.


While reminiscing about their childhood in France, the comfort food that grandmother used to make, the great wines, and the relaxed French lifestyle, the idea of opening a French bistro was born. Why not embody all of that into a true French family restaurant and share it with everyone else? When you step into Bistro St. Germain, you are stepping into our family restaurant.

"When you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or an anniversary, food, service and ambiance are all key factors to the perfect date night. Luckily for my lady and I, the Cellar exceeded our expectations on all three fronts. The location of this restaurant wasn't very easy to find, but it struck us with more curiosity feeling like it was a special hole-in-the-wall. When we arrived, the hostess seated us kindly (with prior reservations). I couldn't help but glance over how excited my girlfriend was as the restaurant gave off a dimmed and romantic vibe. Everything from the appetizers to the main dishes and sweet bottle of wine were nothing short of excellence. We were both very pleased with our cooked filet mignon and salmon dishes. Each served with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Coming out, we immediately agreed this place will be our annual tradition, celebrating us and everyone in our lives."

"My boyfriend and went to the cellar for my 40th birthday and it was an amazing experience. Our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable about history of the restaurant and the menu. My boyfriend said his steak was the best he have ever had. It was cooked to perfection and the herb butter they put on top was an added bonus. The cocktails were also great. The mixologist knows his stuff. And they gave us the best crème brûlée on the house because it was my birthday. And the restaurant has a seriously cool vibe because the interior designer was the designer of the pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. This place is a must. I will be eating there many more times. Excellent for a special occasion. It's worth the price all the way."

"The food here was exquisite. I had the Classic Chateaubriand for Two with my fiancé. Our steak was medium rare and it was by far one of the most tender pieces of meat I've had in my life. Out waitress was very knowledgeable on both the menu and the restaurant itself. We also had some tiki drinks that were delicious. I cannot wait to come back for my birthday! Once the food arrived, it became such a spiritual moment between my food and I that I forgot to take a picture. It was just that delicious!"
