4worldlovers: National Beef Packing Company, LLC (National Beef) and One World Beef, LLC (OWB) today announced that an agreement has been reached to sell National Beef’s Brawley, Calif. beef slaughter and processing facility to OWB. The transaction is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of due diligence, regulatory approvals and closing conditions customary for a transaction of this type. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“We are very pleased by the prospect of One World Beef purchasing the Brawley facility,” said Tim Klein, chief executive officer, National Beef. “Closing the facility last year was a very difficult decision for us to make because of the impact on our employees and suppliers. A successful transaction would bring a significant number of jobs, economic activity and a local source for beef processing back to the Imperial Valley.”
